One of the best things about raising little humans is dressing them like big humans! Gone are the days of overtly-obvious kiddie clothes adorned with Elmo, Barbie and the likes. Now-a-days, little ones are wearing more couture and less Cookie Monster. Seeing tiny tots draped in fur, fancy shoes and fabulous bags has become the norm … and I love it! Which is why I love Livi B. Accessories even more. I got to chat with owner, April Jones, and she gave me a little insight into her new fashion venture and her mini muse, Miss Olivia Blair
Recently, I’ve been on a mission to revamp my look. I ordered new shoes, jeans, tops, dresses and more, but realized that my accessories stash was running low. Little miss #CharlieB has taken over my jewelry box, but if I being honest, most of the stuff in there was super dated anyways.
Thank God for The Pink Studs. My friend told me about this super cute online jewelry boutique and since then I’ve been obsessed. Their trinkets, baubles and jewels are perfect for a chic like me. A bit edgy, girly, classic and unique all rolled into one.
Just take a look at a few of their items below and head over to their site www.ThePinkStuds.com, you won’t be disappointed!
Freshly Picked’s new Spring line is almost here and it’s fantastic!
The brand known for their super cute moccasins has decidedly put more emphasis on their apparel, and we’re totally here for it. In addition to new, fun colors for the adorable moccs, they’ve added shirts, shorts and more with fun tropical prints like bananas and palm tress.
#MommyCrushMonday will be extra special tomorrow, because it’s the Oscars edition! These SASY moms knocked it out of the park this year and clearly know how to rock their stilettos in a world full of spit-ups and sippy cups!
First up, Scarlett Johansson looked simply flawless in the green, body-hugging, Versace gown. I MEAN! She just gave birth five months ago. Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!
Newly married Solange Knowles was on fire in the red Christian Siriano pant suit. She’s. Just. Everything!
Also wearing Christian Siriano, Kelly Ripa stunned in this elegant black dress.
New mommy Zoe Saldana showed off her snapback body in this pale pink gown by Versace. Saldana gave birth to twins boys last November.
And, of course, it’s not a red carpet until Jennifer Lopez steps on the scene! J. Lo or as she is now affectionately called, Slay Lo, was hands down my fave at the Academy Awards. She just gets it right every single time! Wearing Elie Saab, the bronzed beauty shut it down and completely took my breath away. Round of applause.
Finding fashionable frocks for little tots can sometimes be a daunting task. If you want quality and comfort, plus something stylish and fly that doesn’t cost a fortune, it takes some hard work and research. Luckily for me, my friend is a beauty editor and keeps her kid looking cool all the time! You may remember former “SASY Mom of the Week”, April Jones — she’s a fabulous fashionista (check out her IG: @iamaprildenise) with a super chic two year old daughter named Olivia Blair. She’s here to give you some tips on how to keep your little one looking fierce at all times … without spending all your money. ~ Modern Martha Stewart xo
When asked to describe Olivia’s personal style, yes my two-year old has personal style, I would describe it as west coast cool with a touch of sass. I normally combine comfortable chic basics in neutrals with a fabulous statement piece(s) to add a little rock star element. Pops of color and prints are of essence, however we stay away from pinks (and ruffles) because lets face it the kid is not a prissy pageant queen. Olivia rocks a curly fro’, not pigtails with bows.
People often admire the way I style Olivia and they’re pretty much amazed when I tell them where I purchase her wardrobe. I love to mix and match pieces from Old Navy, American Apparel, The Gap, Zara & local thrift stores. The majority of her wardrobe is from the Gap due to their affordability, stylish on-trend collections, and most importantly their high quality. Bluebird Children’s Designer Resale Boutique on Larchmont is where I find Liv’s designer pieces and the majority of her outerwear. I’m also obsessed with Zara’s stylishly chic outerwear for children. I purchase her “mini-me” looks from there as well.
During the winter season I’m able to experiment with layers and create fabulous ensembles for my little one.
Olivia’s LA Winter Staples
Timberlands $75 www.timberland.com
Liv gives Tomboy swag when rocking these. We normally pair them with leggings and a chunky sweater, or with a denim on denim look. The outfit possibilities are endless.
Faux Fur Vest $14 www.bluebirdkidsla.com
Did I mention that we LOVE statement pieces. This vest is not only fabulous it’s super versatile. We throw it over a dress, or flannel and leather leggings combination.
Pony Hair Leopard Print Mary Jane Flats $24 www.bluebirdkidsla.com
Originally $70 these fabulous finds are definitely one of Olivia’s “statement pieces”. They’re normally paired with a black opaque tights and sweater dress look.
Harem Pants $15.90 www.zara.com
So cute, comfy and COOL! These basics are perfect for an active toddler. Don’t be afraid to venture to the boys section for your princess. Lots of Liv’s basics were designed for “little boys”.
Scarfs & Bandanas $3+
Olivia LIVES for accessories. She is literally the only toddler who will wear a scarf around her neck or fedora on her head the entire day. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree!
Chunky Sweaters $34.95+ www.gap.com
Cozy and always in-style, chunky sweaters are perfect for LA’s mild winters. We love to throw them over a denim collar shirt or oxford for a polished preppy chic look.
Thermal Long Sleeve T-Shirts $14 www.americanapparel.net $5 www.oldnavy.com
These basics are the most used pieces in Liv’s wardrobe. They’re awesome for layering, and are extremely comfortable. She loves rocking them to the playground.
When designing a wardrobe for your stylish tot, try to abstain from overspending.
It would be absolutely ridiculous to spend obscene amounts of money outfitting a toddler who’s growing at the speed of light! If you do go overboard make sure it’s an investment piece like gender neutral outerwear that can be passed down to their siblings or even your future grandchildren!
From humble beginnings as a Facebook consignment page to an in-demand fashion brand — Be Inspired Boutique is one of a kind!
B.I.B was created by Michelle Brasher, a stay-at-home mom with three kids who had a dream of homeschooling her brood. After just one year in business, Be Inspired Boutique has a community following over 450k and has just cleared $1 million in sales … talk about a “mommy mogul”!
Brasher and her B.I.B community share common ground as women who love online shopping, giving back, and inspiration. Not only are the clothes offered by Be Inspired Boutique, beautiful, original and affordable, the first 10% of all profits go to worthy causes and charity.
I know first-hand how awesome B.I.B is because me and my mini-me got the chance to wear dresses from the “Just Like Mommy” line and we absolutely loved them! We got tons of compliments and #CharlieB didn’t want to take her dress off when we got home
The dresses in the collection are stylish, comfortable and durable enough for a toddler, yet sophisticated enough for mommy!
And there are tons of styles to choose from. Even if you don’t have a “mini-me”, B.I.B is still for you. With a full line of dresses, tops, bottoms and even shoes, you’re sure to find something that fits your style. Click here to check out Be Inspired Boutique and follow them on Instagram @BeInspiredBoutique! I promise, you won’t regret it.
October is Breast Cancer awareness month and there’s a new way to show your support — by sporting a super cute swimsuit!
Sorella Swim is already one of our faves because it’s slogan is “Designed with Curves in Mind” (can we get an amen!). But on top of that, this month they’ve partnered with the Susan G. Komen foundation in order to help raise funds and awareness about breast cancer.
10% of all sales on “Rose” colored swimwear is donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation Los Angeles County in support of breast cancer research. Click HERE to shop the Rose swimwear collection! Plus, take a look at the behind-the-scene video from their “Sisters in All Sizes” campaign shoot below. The swimsuits are absolutely stunning!
2 words. Baby. Moccasins.
They may be completely unnecessary and totally a trend, but we don’t care. These cute little shoes are the must have item for the 5 and under crowd. Our fave fringe fashion statement comes from Freshly Picked. With 36 colors and a few different fabrics to choose from, Freshly Picked has the baby moccasin game on lock. Take a look at a few of our favorite colors…
The FP look retails for $60 — we know, we know…kinda pricey for a baby shoe. Don’t worry, if you’re looking to pay a little less, but still get a great shoe check out the Minntonka Moccasin priced at $21.95. Not as many colors to choose from (beige, brown, pink and purple are your options), but the shoe is still super cute and it’s less than half the price of a Freshly Picked pair.
So, who’s pregnant this time? No one…HA! This Kardashian kid is a clothing line!
“My dream come true!”, Kourtney posted on Instagram with a picture of the new “Kardashian Kids” print ad.
Following their uber-successul “Kardashian Kollection” at Sears, the Kardashian klan have expanded their brand to include the little ones. This moves is quite obvious seeing as how Kourtney has two toddlers, Mason & Penelope, and Kim has 8 month old North.
No word on when the line will be available in stores, right now it’s just “coming soon”.
Even though you may just want to through a Moo-moo over your bump and call it a day, that’s not always an acceptable look. Case-in-point, the Grammys.
While you may not be hitting a red carpet anytime soon, there will come a time when you and your fetus may need to get fancy and Ciara just gave you the blueprint on how to do it well. The singer was spotted at the Grammy Awards in a stunning sparkly Emilio Pucci dress. The glittery, gold gown showed off Ci Ci’s sexy curves, while highlighting her beautiful baby bump. Perfect!
Earlier in the week, the future SASY mom, sported a blue pinstriped Lanvin mens tux while stepping out for Fashion Week.
