Why The Britax Clicktight Car Seat Really Is A #Gamechanger!

I’ve tried my fair share of car seats … FOUR to be exact (and #CharlieB isn’t even two yet!). But now, I look no further. The Britax Advocate ClickTight car seat is all I ever needed!

I could give you all the safety features and the extensive list of impressive data, but Britax has already done all of that for you (just click HERE). What I will do is give you my list of pros and cons for the car seat that has been accurately dubbed the “#GameChanger”.

-It literally took me less than a minute to install it. ME! Our last car seats all had to be installed by my husband.

-It’s super plush and therefore comfy for my tall toddler.

-It’s a convertible seat that goes from newborn to toddler seamlessly.

-There are seven recline positions. SEVEN! Plus easy to read indicator on the side makes knowing which position to put your child in fool-proof.

-More than anything, the enhanced safety features give me peace of mind like no other.

-I wish it had a cup holder.

Yep, that’s my only con. And I just found out you can order one as an attachment on the Britax website for about 15 bucks.

As a product tester it’s really important for me to be able to stand behind my words and trust the items I endorse. Without a doubt, I will be recommending the Britax ClickTight car seat to every SASY mom I know!

Why “Home” Is Where The Heart Is!

Home has more than just heart … it’s full of laughs, tears and an amazing message!

Just a few days ago, the hubby, Charlie B and I got to see an early screening of the new Dreamworks animated film, Home. The film follows Tip, voice by Rihanna, who loses her mother when Boov aliens inhabit the Earth. Jim Parsons plays the adorable Boov alien Oh who attempts to help Tip find her mother Lucy, played by Jennifer Lopez. Steve Martin also joins the film as Boov leader, Captain Smek.

An all-star cast is just one of the many reason why Home is a must see movie for kids and adults alike. Here are my top 5 reason to see Home

1. The Boov aliens are super cute. Similar to the Minions in Despicable Me, the Boovs are bound to steal your heart and your kids will probably be obsessed. Get ready!

Charlie B with the Boovs, Oh and Captain Smek.

Charlie B with the Boovs, Oh and Captain Smek.

2. The jokes are actually funny. Not just kid-friendly funny, but adult funny, too. Somehow, Dreamworks figured out the perfect balance between little people LOLs and big people Bwahahahas.

3. You might just cry — Well, I did. I’m an emotional person on just an average day, but there’s a moment in this film where I think the whole audience teared up. It’s sweet, heartfelt and moving, so bring a tissue (just in case).

4. The message of the film encourages self acceptance and acceptance of those around you. Without beating you over the head, the message of tolerance is loud and clear, and it’s absolutely beautiful. It also promotes friendship, respect, loyalty, honesty, love, perseverance and determination … you can’t go wrong with a message like that!

5. There’s a surprise ending that’s just awesome. Without smacking you with a huge spoiler alert, I’ll just say that you think you know where the film is headed, but then something unexpected happens and it not only teaches a beautiful lesson, it’s also awww-inducing!

Home hits theaters March 27th! If you go, hit me up on Twitter and let me know what you thought.

Charlie B. Chooses Chobani!

In a world full of yummy fruit and veggie pouches, it’s hard to pick a favorite. But, leave it up to #CharlieB to weed out the best of the best.

In all honesty, Charlie is a pouch connoisseur. She loves Earth’s Best, Go Go Squeeze, Ella’s Kitchen and Happy Baby … but, now we can add Chobani to her list of likes!

How To Have A Stress-Free Sunday!

All week long I look forward to relaxing during the weekend, but it never fails, the weekend seems busier than the work-week! For that very reason, I’ve dedicated time every Sunday to get in at least 15 minutes of stress-free relaxation. Since I know there are some mamas out there that can relate, I’ve decided to pass on a few tips on how to make sure you get in some “me” time … even if it’s just 15 minutes 🙂

1. I’m A Sucker For A Spa Mask & Bath: Literally, an over-the-counter mask can feel like a Burke Williams facial when you’re a busy mom. I wear mine around the house often, but when it’s time to decompress, I lock myself in the bathroom, tell the Hubby I’m unavailable and soak in a warm bath with candles all around. It’s my absolute fave way to spend a Sunday night.

2. Go For A Walk: Sometimes you just need to get away and a walk is the perfect way to do so. If you can, try to take a stroll solo dolo. If that’s not possible, then take your little one with you right before nap time. Baby will fall asleep and mama can take in the scenery and enjoy the quiet time.

3. Turn Off The TV: Sometimes keeping up with all of your favorite shows is a chore (an enjoyable one, but still time consuming). When I feel like my DVR is running my life, I like to shut it down completely. When the little one finally goes to sleep, sit in silence for a bit. It will do wonders for your mind. Although, I’ll admit, I’m such a busy body that sometimes I can only do it for five minutes. Womp!

4. Get Organized: Do you get anxious about the week ahead? Do Mondays make you mad? If this is the case, organize your week ahead of time … feeling prepared goes a long way in helping that overwhelming feeling. Typically, I’m not a Monday hater, but when I feel like my day is going to be hectic, I make a list and instantly I feel like I can tackle the challenges ahead.

5. Do Something Different: If your weekend looks hella busy and you have no clue why, just clear the schedule. I know, easier said then done. But when I feel like errands, meetings and appointments are taking over, I press PAUSE! I hate missing moments with Charlie B. and when the work-week is super busy, sometimes all I have is the weekend. So, I try to make the most of it. Just take a step back and think about what’s really important to you.

The Pros & Cons of Kidspace Museum

We’re always looking for fun, new activities for little #CharlieB, so when I heard about the Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, CA, it became a must visit destination.

To sum up our experience, Charlie had a FIT when it was time to leave. Now you know, that’s definitely a sign of a good time!

Here are a few of the highlights…Keep in mind, Charlie is 20 months old.

Toddler Tales: How We Got Rid Of Binky!

Bye, bye binky! There were laughs, tears and tantrums, but we finally got rid of the pacifier.

#CharlieB didn’t start using a paci until she was 11 months old and I had begun weaning. Pre-baby, I was one of those people that said I would never use a binky — but when you’re trying to get a screaming baby to calm down at 1am you’ll try just about anything.

Fast-forward seven months and I had decided that 1 1/2 years old would be our cut-off point … it was time to phase out binky (dun, dun, dunnnnn!). By this point Charlie used her pacifier during nap and bedtime, so we were gearing up for some pretty sleepless nights. Luckily, it wasn’t that bad.

In effort to eradicate binky we went with the “cut-off” method. We took the pacifier and snip, snip — completely cut off the nipple.

DAY 1 – During the day, when CB asked for binky we gave her the cut-off one. She put it in her mouth, looked at us and laughed. She attempted to chew the little bit of nipple that was left, but that was about it. However, at bedtime there was quite a fuss. She held on to binky but couldn’t use it to soothe herself. After about a half an hour she finally went to sleep.

DAY 2 – During the day she didn’t ask for binky much, but once again she demanded it at night. However, night two was much better. We did our nightly routine of bath, book, pray and bed and she went down after only about 15 minutes with just a bit of whining.

DAY 3,4 & 5 – OK, the next three days got REAL y’all. There was fussiness during the day and night. Bedtime was roughhhh! On these days she chewed binky, threw tanrtums, cried excessively and could not be soothed. I literally almost gave up and just gave her a regular pacifier. BUT, I’m glad I didn’t. After about an hour (each one of these nights) she fell asleep.

DAY 6 – I could finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. This day there was no day time fussiness, minimal binky requests and a far easier bedtime ritual. While she still asked for her “friend” when it was time to go to sleep, she just held it and was out relatively quick.

DAY 7 – ***praise hands emoji*** On this day she didn’t ask for binky during the day at all! During bedtime she did ask for it, but gave it back when she realized it was still the cut-off version. After that she was out like a light!

It literally took a full week to rid ourselves of binky. It was tough but I’m really glad we stayed the course. I hope this posts helps someone out there. If you have any “breaking binky” tips I’d love to hear them! Just email me at

CB does get rocked to sleep and it helped immensely with soothing her.
During our phase out Charlie did have a bottle during bedtime which also helped immensely, but now she just has a sippy cup of warm milk.
She also still wakes up in the middle of the night about 75% of the time, but this is unrelated to binky. Most times it’s because she’s too wet or hungry.

Product Review: Which Natural Diaper Is The BEST?!

Diapers, diapers everywhere, but which one to choose?!

Over the last 19 months I have tried several natural diapers on #CharlieB. Honestly, there are a ton on the market, but three brands in particular are my favorite. I’ll give you the pros, cons and the one eco-friendly diaper that is the driest of them all!

If you’re looking for a no fuss, no muss kind of diaper, then look no further. Aside from being “natural”, Seventh Generation is also no frills! The diapers resemble a paper bag which emphasizes the no dyes/no perfume approach. It’s not like you need a pretty diaper (we all know what happens inside of it), however this one is unusually ugly. But honestly, that didn’t bother me (that much). The diapers did well for #CharlieB until she got a bit older. They are great for tiny babies, but once your little one crosses over to solids, Seventh Generation may not measure up to the heavy doody task. They tout a special absorbent core containing wood pulp, corn and wheat derived materials, but that wasn’t enough for my little potty machine. Rating: 3 out of 5 Sippy Cups

THC may be one of the more popular natural diaper brands and for a good reason. What Seventh Generation lacks, THC picks up. The diaper was consistently leak free for #CharlieB during the day, but wasn’t a reliable overnight option — it was hit or miss depending on how long Charlie slept. However, I do appreciate that they are a reasonably priced, eco-friendly option which is sometimes hard to find. Plus, not only is there easy ordering online, but now many retailers carry the brand as well. PLUS, Honest diapers are super cute! With tons of designs to choose from, it feels like you’re shopping for clothes, not diapers. Rating: 4 out of 5 Sippy Cups

Here we go … the MVP of non-toxic diapers! Just like the ones listed before it, Bambo Nature touts an eco-friendly, natural, super absorbent resume. And like the ones before it, it pretty much delivers. The difference? Not. One. Leak. Ever! Literally, during the two weeks we tested Bambo, #CharlieB stayed leak free. Then there’s this…

Bambo Nature is the only baby diaper in the world to receive the highly-coveted Nordic-Swan Eco-Label. Carrying this label entails one of the lengthiest approval processes in all of Scandinavia (and possibly the world), as their strict standards are raised each year.

Soooo, what does that mean? I don’t know and I really don’t care. Sure, they have lots of credentials and labels, but at the end of the day I just want a diaper that works and thankfully this one does! The only con is that Bambo Nature is a bit harder to find than other diapers. It’s not stocked in every store, but with this wonderful invention called the Internet, you can order BN anytime you want. Oh, and they’re not totes adorable like The Honest Company diapers, but not butt ugly like Seventh Generation. They look like your average diaper. Rating: 4 1/2 out of 5 Sippy Cups.

Have you tried some awesome, natural diapers that aren’t listed here? Shoot me an email and tell me all about it!
