OK, no, I’m not Oprah, but it is Black Friday and since many of us will be in a shopping frenzy I am choosing to help my mama friends out and reveal my 5 favorite items of the year!
When I was a little kid growing up in Michigan, I played outside all of the time — I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately, I’ve found that raising a kid in LA doesn’t provide the same opportunity. Luckily, we live across the street from a park and have a small backyard area, so #CharlieB gets her fill of nature, but not every kid is so fortunate. Annnnnnd that’s where Tinkergarten comes in.
Before I even had a baby, I knew Bugaboo was THEE stroller for the elite sector of chic mamas. They’ve always blended style with function seamlessly and it was easy to see why it was in such high demand … unless you were looking for a jogger. Those chic mamas on the move had to go elsewhere when looking for a durable stroller that they could take on a run, that is, until now. Bugaboo has heard your cries, you fit and fabulous mother, and they have delivered the Bugaboo Runner!
We’re always looking for fun, new activities for little #CharlieB, so when I heard about the Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena, CA, it became a must visit destination.
To sum up our experience, Charlie had a FIT when it was time to leave. Now you know, that’s definitely a sign of a good time!
Here are a few of the highlights…Keep in mind, Charlie is 20 months old.
It’s new and improved! “Books and Cookies” has moved to Santa Monica and it’s absolutely perfect.
Branded “an enchanting blend of literature, learning and sweet treats”, “Books and Cookies” definitely delivers on their promise. I, along with my baby girl Charlie B., stopped by “B and C” for a private party hosted by Club MomMe on Friday, and we were blown away.
When you enter the super cute store front, you are instantly excited by the tons of colorful books lining the walls and displayed on tables. Everything from the old classic to the new, popular books are available at your finger tips.
Then, take just a few steps towards the back of the store, and you enter a play space for your little ones to enjoy reading, music, playing, parachute time and so much more.
Then head even further back and you arrive in a grassy play area designated for the little ones to run, jump and play with balls, toys, rocking chairs, a jungle gym and more.
“Books and Cookies” has so much to offer and is the perfect place for a fun playdate. The unique store is owned/created by Diana Ross’ daughter, Chudney Ross, who says the multifaceted fun zone is a dream come true for her.
“… one thing I was always sure of was that I wanted do something big, something special, something to leave a positive mark on the world,” Chudney told Chic-CEO.
Well Chudney, you absolutely achieved that! Charlie B. and I will definitely by back.
It was a mere thought just three weeks ago, but on Saturday, August 30th, it became a dream come true.
The Treasure Chest Festival was the brain child of “Baby Madison Collection”, and thankfully, Stilettos & Sippy Cups had the pleasure of co-hosting the charity event. Benefitting Baby2Baby, the Treasure Chest Fest was a donation celebration where parents happily gave their gently used baby items to children in homeless and domestic violence shelters.
The event was also a party for the little ones. There was a bounce house, snow cones, face painting and so much more. It really was a fun-filled event for the family!
The Treasure Chest Fest collected a stroller, car seat, bouncy chair, activity center, potty training chairs, clothes, shoes, toys and so much more for children in need.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported the event. Whether you were there in-person or in spirit, your encouragement, prayers, love and donations were greatly appreciated.
Check out a few flicks from the event below…
Do you have baby stuff overflowing out of your closet, stuffed under your bed and crammed in your attic? Don’t worry, we all do! But, now here’s your chance to sell, trade or donate those gently used items that you no longer need.
Stilettos & Sippy Cups in conjunction with Baby Madison Collection, are proud to present the inaugural Treasure Chest Festival! It’s a chance to have a fun day at the park with your little one, while ridding yourself of tons of old stuff you don’t need.
There will be a bounce house, finger foods, snow cones, face painting, games and more for the kids…all for FREE! And for the adults, we’ll have on-site consignment and opportunities to trade items with other parents. Plus, all items not sold or traded will be donated to Baby2Baby.
If you’re in the Los Angeles area, please come out to The Treasure Chest Festival on Saturday, August 30th at Reseda Park from 1pm to 4pm. Hope to see you there!
Ummm, why didn’t you guys tells me how awesome Club MomMe was?!
I just joined the “MomMe” club and honestly, I didn’t know much about their “Best Of Products” series — boy, was I missing out. I felt like I was a little late to the rodeo since my little Charlie B is already one year old, but whether you get on board before birthing your baby or not until your little one is darn near grown, there’s something for you.
For the LA stop, the MomMe’s held their “Best Of Product” series featuring Baby Gizmo at the super cute “Right Start” baby store. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by Club MomMe’s co-founder Rachel, a bevy of beautiful moms and moms-to be and products galore, which brings me to my first reason why the “BOP” series is a MUST!
1. It is an amazing opportunity to meet other #SASYmoms. Everyone was so nice and excited to meet new people. We moms have got to stick together.
2. Knowledge is power. From strollers to car seats, Baby Gizmo (a.k.a Hollie) knows her ish and has no bias when it comes to the products she reviews.
3. I WON A UBBI DIAPER PAIL!!! (it’s red and totally matched my shoes!!!)
I didn’t even know a raffle was a part of the event and before you know it my number was called. I wasn’t the only winner though, some mommies and daddies walked away with a stroller, car seat, bottles, toys and much, much more. I promise you, almost the entire crowd had some sort of parting gift…PLUS, a gift bag, too. Can you tell I love freebies?
Overall, the “Best Of Products” series was fantastic. I met some pretty cool #SASYmoms, got some much needed info on car seats (we’re replacing the one we currently have) and walked away with a new diaper pail, which we desperately needed. I will definitely be back for the next one.
