Before I even had a baby, I knew Bugaboo was THEE stroller for the elite sector of chic mamas. They’ve always blended style with function seamlessly and it was easy to see why it was in such high demand … unless you were looking for a jogger. Those chic mamas on the move had to go elsewhere when looking for a durable stroller that they could take on a run, that is, until now. Bugaboo has heard your cries, you fit and fabulous mother, and they have delivered the Bugaboo Runner!
While at the “Bugaboo Runner Launch Event” in Santa Monica, I got to test out one of these cool little joggers and I really liked it. The “B-R” as I like to call it, is genius for many reason but the best detail may be the fact that the base is compatible with many of the Bugaboo seats. So, if you already own a Bugaboo stroller, no need to buy anything but the Runner chassis. If you don’t own a Bugaboo, no worries, you can still buy the “B-R” complete unit with a seat.
The Bugaboo Runner is a separate chassis designed purely for running and is compatible with:
(1) Bugaboo Cameleon³ seat
(2) Bugaboo Bee (2010 model and onwards) seat
(3) Bugaboo Donkey seat – version 1.1*
(4) Bugaboo Buffalo seat
I also love that the basket under the seat is big enough for all my crap and I like that you have the option of the seat facing you or facing away from you. Plus, the chassis unit is super easy to fold and it has an extra compact feature if you need to get it really small.
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that the steering is super easy with a nice smooth ride (thanks tracking adjustment & fixed front wheel!!). Seriously, what more can you ask for!
The only con would probably be cost (if you need the complete unit), but if you’re eyeing a Bugaboo then you already know it’s going to be a pretty penny 🙂 BUT you do get what you pay for. The base retails for about $400, while the seat is priced around $380. Most other joggers on the market run you anywhere from $150 to $500. Also, the Bugaboo Runner is on the heavier side clocking in at 27.9 pounds … in comparison, some of the lightest ones on the market are around 23 – 25 lbs.
If you get your hands on the Bugaboo Runner let me know what you think! xo
